Mr. King urges his fellow party members NOT to vote for medical aid to the 9/11 first responders. The aid package dies on the House floor.

Long Island's Congressman King votes against a $700,000,000 emergency federal aid package to help local Police and Fire services, and local school districts. The bill would help to off-set the cost of rising local taxes.

Mr. King says that he would NOT vote for a February 2011
economic stimulus package to help the the economy and reduce joblessness. In referring to the Obama economic policy,
Mr. King said:
"The first stimulus didn't work! Mr. Obama should learn from his mistakes!". (Newsday)
